When I was back in the UK on holiday last month, I spent a week up in Yorkshire. If you imagine a map of Japan is equivalent to a map of Britain… Tokyo would be London… Yorkshire would be Iwate. This is the view of Staithes, a seaside village, from a breakwater that juts out into the North Sea. I liked the colours of the rocks in the autumn sunshine.

先月イギリスに帰省して休暇を過ごした際、1週間をヨークシャーで過ごしました。日本地図をイギリス地図に置き換えて想像すると、東京がロンドンに相当し、ヨークシャーは岩手にあたるでしょう。これは、北海に突き出た防波堤から見た海辺の村、ステイズの景色です。秋の日差しの中で輝く岩の色がとても気に入りました。
