Yokohama Happy Hour

I’ve been to Yokohama twice in my life. Once, before kids, to see the summer fireworks with my wife, and once for a weekend trip when our daughters were little. I can even trace my interest in art back to that second trip — I was fascinated by the way the morning light fell on a corner of the hotel room ceiling. Even though I knew all surfaces of the room were painted white, they were clearly different shades, depending on the angle of the light. A valuable first art lesson!
私の人生で横浜には2回行ったことがあります。1回目は妻と一緒に夏の花火を見に行った時で、2回目は娘たちが小さかった頃の週末旅行でした。実は、私のアートへの興味はその2回目の旅行にまで遡ることができます。ホテルの部屋の天井の一角に朝の光が差し込む様子に魅了されたのです。部屋のすべての表面が白く塗られていることを知っていたにもかかわらず、光の角度によって明らかに異なる色合いに見えました。これは私にとって最初の貴重なアートのレッスンでした！
